Village Halls

Most village halls have basic water systems which, if used several times each week, should not present a high risk.

If the hall is used less frequently or has a hot water cylinder which is only heated as required, then there is the potential for legionella growth.

Always factor in the type of people who frequent the premises, are any elderly with impaired lungs, diabetic or have cancer or chronic kidney disease? If so, then they are the most likely to contract Legionnaires’ Disease and also have elevated fatality rates.

Make sure the kitchen tap is flushed before use whenever the kitchen has not been used for a few days. Test the kitchen tap with Drinking Water Quality Test to verify the ‘flushing’ regime is keeping the water safe for your staff and members.
